HSE Policy (Health, Safety and Environment)
 
Veritas Caspian is committed to achieving and maintaining excellence in all aspects of its activities. Veritas Caspian recognizes and accepts the mandate to conduct its activities in a responsible and sustainable manner. Veritas Caspian will provide a system of work in order to protect the health, safety and security of our employees, visitors, contractors and the public and at the same time minimizes the impact of its activities on the environment. Veritas Caspian recognizes that all injuries are preventable.
 
To achieve excellence in our business and work environment, the commitment and cooperation of all managers, employees, contractors and visitors is essential. Line management is responsible for the overall HSE performance of the activities under its control and for the achieving specific objectives which support this Policy, with the support of the HSE functions.
 
In order to support this policy Veritas Caspian will:
 
- Develop, implement, maintain and improve the Health, Safety and Environment Operating Management System (HSE-OMS) in all components including Security and Social Responsibility;

- Comply with all local and international regulations and commit to industry standards and best practices.

- Promote and maintain awareness of workplace hazards. Conduct rigorous hazard assessments for each project and implement the necessary controls to reduce the risks as low as reasonably practicable;

- Manage contractors which are within our prevailing influence in accordance with this policy and in accordance with Company standards;
- Ensure the employees are competent to conduct their assigned tasks;

- Set HSE objectives, regularly review performance, specify Key Performance Indicators and recognize excellence;

- Maintain a reporting system that allows analysis of incidents, potential incidents and non-conformities which disseminates across the Company recommendations to prevent recurrence;

- Conduct regular audits and inspections of company, and where applicable, contractor facilities;

- Demonstrate continuous improvement.
 
Veritas Caspian will allocate sufficient resources to achieve these objectives, and all employees and contractors will be required to:
 
- Comply with relevant standards specified by statute, industry or the Company HSE-OMS;

- Accept responsibility for protecting themselves, fellow employees, visitors and members of the public who may be affected by their activities; this includes the right and obligation to stop work and intervene to prevent injury or harm to the environment;

- Contribute to the planning process, actively participate in assisting the Company to achieve its objectives;

- Mimimize the need for transport of personnel and goods, by optimizing project planning and journey management;

- Select the safest mode of transport for the transport required: aircraft, railroad, vehicle or watercarft and rigorously apply regulatory and CGG standard for these;

- Actively participate in the reporting and subsequent investigation of all accidents, incidents, hazards and near misses that have the potential to impact on Veritas Caspian operations.
