Veritas Caspian is a Limited Liability Partnership registered under Kazakhstan legislation, having been formed in July 2005 for the purpose of acquiring an extensive data library program on behalf of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Today it is a foreign venture between CGG Holding B.V. and CGG Services (UK) Limited.

The Kazakhstan data library project officially named the "Agreement to Conduct State Geological Study by Non-Exclusive Geophysical Survey (3D method of common-depth-point) of unlicensed territories in Kazakhstan Sector of Caspian Sea" is intended to provide the advanced geophysical information necessary for detailed evaluation of prospective open blocks in the Kazakhstan sector of the Caspian Sea.
