In March Veritas Caspian completed the upgrade of the Processing Hardware at the Almaty centre.
The upgrade of the Processing Center has significantly increased the computer capacity and capablity, producing processed data to the highest quality, attracting a number of high profile 3D contracts, confirming the centres committment to the clients and to the final product.

New Hardware includes:
Dell Nehalen 386 node, 2.8Ghz processing system/cluster
Dell PowerVault storage array 320Terrabytes of disk space after RAID
These are inter-connected by an accelerated network system and everything is continually backed up by tape robot to LTO5
Tape Drives: 3 at 3590, 3 at 3590E, 2 at DLT 8000, 2 at Exabyte, 1 at LTO3, 3 at 3490, 2 at 3592.
Additional computers are used for volume viewing and preparation of depth migration models.
Each user has high power PC with dual screens 20” and 30”.
The processing system/cluster is configured to be very flexible, enabling it to be used to process 386 jobs simultaneously, this can be useful when running a survey through the early stages of processing, or using all of the 386 nodes, the system can be dedicated to one job, as required by the various demands of clients.
